Within a major School masterplan and long-term upgrade, there will always be opportunities to gussy-up the left-over and forgotten spaces to give the school vitality and dynamism. Considering a student only has 6 years in the senior school, it is important to consider the experience of that girl and look for ways in which masterplan works-in-progress can not only retain relevance, but also be inspiring.

Happily, the budgets for these projects are usually perfectly aligned with our guiding sustainability value: how can we do more with less? How can we use maximum creativity and expertise to be radically transformative with a minimum of complexity, fuss, materials and money.
Projects to date include:
Transforming the under-theatre forgotten space into a surprisingly immersive musical instrument storage space; Renovating the gym building on a shoe-string budget to reinforce school spirit and enhance the modernist bones of the original building; Converting lacklustre classrooms into specialist theatre education spaces; Updating Junior School STEAM rooms to support robotics, 3D printing and other opportunities for the girls; Updating Senior School STEM rooms to support students’ individual project-led work including a mural that references the science of perspective.
